Basic Directions
Driving to Cabo San Lucas is a long but scenic endeavour. The Baja Highway (Mexico's Highway 1) runs more than 1,000 miles (1,704 km) from Tijuana at the U.S. border to the tip of the Baja Peninsula at Cabo San Lucas. The road is paved the entire way, but requires as much as a week to traverse, if you plan on stopping to sightsee—which you definitely will.
